The vast majority of entrepreneurs who are new to affiliate marketing [1] end up failing. They fail because they listen to advice from so called experts who really have no idea what they are talking about. In the world of affiliate marketing there are a million fakers. It is really simple to get lured in by the hope of easy money in this field. The simple truth is that there is no such thing as easy money. You still have to invest a substantial amount of effort learning what the truth actually is.
Learning how to separate the liars from people who speak the truth is one of the most time wasting and upsetting aspects of this business. Once you find a person who speaks the truth though, you better sit down and soak up every last ounce of wisdom they offer. They are a rare find.
The professionals choose to make a living through niche marketing for a couple of really intelligent reasons. The first reason is because it is a lot simpler to get a website to rank number one in Google if you target a really long keyword phrase. The experienced people refer to these as long tails. Take a look for yourself. Do you think it would be easier to rank for the term red widgets or for the term red widgets with purple stripes and white dots? Obviously there will be a lot fewer websites promoting the longer version. This means that you have less competitors. Less competitors usually means easier ranking.
Another reason that the legitimate pros focus on specific niches is because it is a numbers game. When you create a blog in niche, you really don’t know how much money there actually is in that niche until after the work is completed. Can you picture yourself putting in months and months of your time into a website only to find out that there isn’t any real money in that topic?
Less competitive keywords help. If you focus on really small niches, you can follow a system that allows you to crank out bunches of websites in a single day. Then it simply becomes a numbers game. You can build a website very quickly. Then you promote it lightly and quickly. In a few short months you get reasonable Google placement from the website. Then you find out how much money there really is in that category. Then focus on building out the more profitable ones while you let the unprofitable niches go.
Think about it. This is the surest path to success. By using this method, you can focus on cranking out tiny yet decent sites that accomplish one specific task. That task is usually to get the visitor to visit an advertiser or affiliate. If you’ve been killing yourself trying to get one stupid blog to make some money, I suggest you look into this alternative method.
